TPC (Tsao Pao Chee) Acquires Controlling Stake in Refresh Group, One of Southeast Asia’s Leading TCM Providers

Singapore, 8 July 2026 — TPC (Tsao Pao Chee) has acquired a controlling stake in Refresh Group, one of Southeast Asia’s most established Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) providers, operating under the Yong Kang and Refresh brands across Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

The acquisition is TPC’s first significant transaction under its Well-being Economy investment strategy, which directs long-term capital across six interconnected pillars: Well-being, Climate and Nature, Energy Transition, Food Systems, Circular Economy, and Human Construct. This move falls under the Well-being pillar and signals TPC’s shift from strategy to execution.

Refresh Group was founded in 2003 and has built one of the region’s most recognised TCM networks over more than two decades. It operates 18 clinics supported by experienced physicians, established patient relationships, and an integrated offering spanning clinical TCM services, wellness therapies, and herbal products. The two brands serve distinct, but complementary segments: Yong Kang focuses on clinical TCM, and Refresh on broader wellness and therapeutic treatments.

The platform will be integrated under OCTAVE Living, TPC’s health, wellness, and lifestyle platform, which approaches care not as isolated treatment, but as part of a broader system supporting long-term human flourishing through lifestyle, daily habits, and preventive practices.

Yong Kang and Refresh will continue to operate under their existing brands, ensuring continuity for patients, physicians, and staff.

Loh Niap Juan, Group Chief Corporate Officer, TPC (Tsao Pao Chee), said:

“Traditional practices such as TCM reflect a way of understanding health that goes beyond treating symptoms, towards sustaining balance over time. As these approaches become more widely recognised, we see an opportunity to support their continued development in a way that is both authentic and accessible. Our intention is to build on what has already been established, and to extend its relevance in today’s context.”

Elson Lee, Managing Director, Refresh Group, said:

“This partnership marks an important new chapter for Refresh Group. For over two decades, we have focused on building trusted healthcare brands that combine TCM heritage with modern operational excellence. With TPC’s long-term vision, resources, and shared belief in holistic well-being, we are excited to strengthen our existing markets and expand access to quality integrative care across the region.”

TCM has long played a central role in how people across Asia understand and manage their health, not only in addressing illness, but as a practice embedded in daily life, seasonal rhythms, and long-term resilience. TPC’s investment reflects a conviction that this approach to health, combined with modern clinical standards and delivery infrastructure, represents a significant and underserved opportunity across the region.

The acquisition also creates a foundation for broader integration across TPC’s ecosystem. In particular, connections between health outcomes, food systems, and living environments point toward future collaboration across the Food Systems and Human Construct pillars, where nutrition, daily habits, and community design increasingly shape long-term well-being.

Further investments across TPC’s six strategic pillars are expected in the months ahead.
